Dr. Ricardo Demarco

Ricardo Demarco is interested in understanding how galaxies and galaxy clusters that we observe in the local Universe formed, as well as their physical properties at different redshifts.

He focuses on the analysis and interpretation of imaging and spectroscopic data obtained from ground and space based observatories to study the formation and evolution of structures. Spectroscopic data allows him to map out large-scale structures, study galaxy cluster dynamics and characterize the stellar content of galaxies at z>1.

He collaborates with international teams on the study of galaxy clusters at z>1, and the quest for clusters at z>1 to investigate the transition between proto-clusters at z>2 and massive clusters at z<1.
