Diagnostic: Rayleigh scattering

Design, build, and test

The diagnostic include different tools needed to characterize and identify the solid particles in the chamber, and measure physical quantities like the absolute mass of the particles or their charge. Our first goal is to build a system based on Rayleigh scattering, which is used to measure the relative the secular frequency of the particle in the trap. The system consists of a solid state laser (Civil Laser) with central frequency of 532 nm and an APD detector (Laser Components). These are used together with an optical setup aimed at collimating the light and facilitate detection.
