Dr. Jaime Rosales

Jaime Andrés Rosales Guzmán has a Doctor in Physical Sciences from the Universidad de Concepción (2019), where he is currently conducting postdoctoral research alongside academic Dr. Nathan Leigh.

Within his professional and academic experience, he is supposed to be Director of the Final Master Thesis (TFM), Universidad Internacional de Valencia (2020-to date), and postdoctorates at the North-West University, Mahiken, South Africa (2021) and the Main Astronomical Observatory of Kyiv, in Ukraine (2019).

His main line of research focuses on understanding stellar variability at different stages of the stellar evolution. This involves performing high-resolution polarimetry, optical and infrared spectroscopy, as well as photometric analysis.

Additionally, Dr. Rosales is involved in the construction of theoretical and synthetic spectra, performing Doppler tomography, analyzing Spectral Energy Distributions (SEDs) and determining distances. The researcher also works on numerical modeling of binary systems using the MESA code. This includes developing models for double periodic variable (DPV) stars and pulsating Lambda Bootis-type stars using GYRE, as well as using the PLUTO code to investigate accretion disks of B-type stars. Finally, his research extends to the exploration of stellar dynamos.
